Permacast

Support for a strategic deepwater port

The challenge

Permacast is a long-established precast concrete manufacturer whose operational capability had evolved significantly. As the business entered a new growth phase, its brand, communications and digital presence no longer reflected its scale, sophistication or readiness to engage government and major industry clients.

Translated technical manufacturing expertise into accessible external narratives

Developed a comprehensive communications and engagement strategy

Prepared a structured annual media, social and communications planner

Project managed a full brand refresh including logo and brand guidelines

Delivered a new website aligned with refreshed positioning and capability

The result

The engagement delivered a cohesive, contemporary brand and communications platform aligned with Permacast’s capability and ambition. Outcomes included a refreshed identity, a clear capability narrative suitable for government and major clients, and a modern website consolidating projects and expertise. The work improved internal alignment and confidence, strengthened market credibility and positioned Permacast to engage new partners and opportunities as a mature, delivery-ready manufacturer.

Legal Aid WA

Transforming reputation through proactive media and government engagement

The challenge

Legal Aid WA faced sustained reputational risk driven by reactive media coverage focused narrowly on criminal law. Under new leadership, the organisation sought to reposition its public profile, demonstrate the breadth of services supporting vulnerable Western Australians, and strengthen government confidence to secure ongoing funding for access to justice.

The pathway

Developed a proactive communications strategy to shift Legal Aid WA from reactive to planned media engagement

Identified and shaped positive narratives highlighting the organisation’s impact across domestic violence, disability, disaster recovery, family law and financial hardship

Delivered targeted media training to lawyers and senior leaders to build confidence and capability as expert spokespeople

Prepared case studies to demonstrate real-world outcomes and human impact of Legal Aid WA services

Supported positive media launches in partnership with State Government to promote new and expanded services

Provided ongoing strategic advice to align communications with government priorities and funding considerations

The result

Over five years, Legal Aid WA shifted from entirely reactive media engagement to an approximately 80 per cent proactive approach. The organisation’s reputation strengthened significantly, with broader recognition of its services beyond criminal law. Relationships with State Government deepened, supporting continued funding certainty.

Increased visibility helped more vulnerable Western Australians access justice, particularly people affected by domestic violence, disability, disasters, ageing and family hardship. The engagement demonstrates the value of disciplined, strategic communications in building trust, reputation and long-term institutional resilience.

Consumers of Mental Health WA (CoMHWA)

Building a sensitive, fit-for-purpose communications framework for a consumer-led organisation

The challenge

As a consumer-led peak body, CoMHWA required an integrated communications strategy to engage government, members, media and people with lived experience of mental health challenges. Limited internal communications capacity and the sensitive nature of its work required a strategy that was effective, ethical and deliverable by staff.

COMWHA

The pathway

Reviewed organisational documents including strategic plans, policies and annual reporting

Audited existing internal and external communications channels, including newsletters, social media and media coverage

Conducted interviews with CoMHWA leadership and staff to understand priorities, risks and capacity

Identified key audiences including members, government stakeholders and relevant media

Developed clear messaging aligned with CoMHWA’s purpose and the sensitivities of lived experience

Provided practical tools, templates and storyboards to support proactive and reactive communications

The result

The resulting communications strategy was practical, accessible and strongly supported by CoMHWA leadership and staff. It clarified audiences, key messages and priority engagement pathways, including government and media.

The strategy strengthened CoMHWA’s ability to communicate consistently and safely on sensitive issues, while amplifying the voices of people with lived experience. With clear tools and guidance, CoMHWA is now better positioned to deliver independent, confident and values-driven communications in support of its advocacy and peer support objectives.
